Meet the Doulas
Where the Passion Begins
LaToshia Rouse, CD(DONA)
I have always been inspired by the strength of women and the miracle of birth. After delivering my children, I realized that a what would have mattered most would have been continuous support from pregnancy to postpartum. This is why I became a DONA International Certified Doula and I am proud to serve women and families throughout the Triangle area in North Carolina as well as through out the country.
Every woman deserves to have someone there to guide and assist them in making educated choices about their pregnancy, and remind them that they can trust the strength of their bodies during this time. After having triplets, there was so much knowledge I developed. Adding that to professional doula trainings, being a subject matter expert, and continuous education means I am uniquely qualified to serve your family. I’m here to provide unbiased information and emotional support. Please get in touch to find out more.
Jasmine Armstrong, LRT/CTRS, CPLC, CYT
Jasmine Cordell-Armstrong, LRT/CTRS, CPLC, CYT, was was trained by Nikia Lawson a DONA International trainer. After her own birth experience that left her asking internal questions and wondering if there was anything she could have done differently to produce a different outcome, Jasmine knew that she wanted to make an impact in the birth community and be a part of something bigger than herself.
Jasmine loves working with pregnant women and their support team to navigate pregnancy and the childbirth process. Jasmine brings an illuminating, calm, non-judgemental, and patient centered spirit to the birthing space to make certain that the families wishes and desires are carried out.
Jasmine’s goal is to educate, qualify, and reassure the birthing person that their bodies were designed to bring forth such a beautiful gift and to trust their strengths and abilities. Also to remind them that it’s their body, their birth, and their baby.
Currently Jasmine has the pleasure of working as a Recreation Therapist, one of two, in the mental health sector for NC’s Department of Public Safety prison system. Jasmine combines her passion for people, silencing the stigma on mental health, helping the voiceless being heard, and by providing activities as interventions to meet the needs of those she serves in this role. She works to increase their mental and physical health, recovery and overall well-being.
When Jasmine isn’t supporting others or advocating for mental health needs, she enjoys spending time with her loving partner in life, Colby Armstrong, 14 year old daughter Ariana, and dog Alexa. Jasmine also enjoys yoga, live entertainment, the arts, good food, traveling, dancing, hiking, and reading.
